Hello from Brooklyn! Today is all about the top summer destinations I’m heading to. But before I get started, T and I got back from Montreal on Wednesday and we’ve been pouring through hundreds of photos we took while there.  I have so much to share with you in the next few weeks and I can’t wait to get your feedback.  In the mean time, we’ve been exploring Brooklyn a lot more since the weather started getting nicer.  We plan on visiting the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and eat some Nathan’s hot dogs in Coney Island.

I love spending time with T during on weekends because that’s the only time we actually have to spend quality time together.  He’s usually exhausted during the weekdays after work and we usually spend those times cooking dinner, unwinding with a drink and watching some of my – because he prefers watching movies to shows – favorite shows.

I don’t know about you but I am a huge fan of traveling.  I travel to really experience other cultures and tastes and often put social media on the back burner because I like being present. During our Montreal trip, I tried a lot more to show snippets of my experience on Instagram.  I like being in the moment instead of trying to capture the perfect shot because often times, those moments are fleeting.  We have several trips planned this summer and fall and I can’t wait to share my plans with you.  I would also love suggestions if you have ever visited any of these cities we’ll be going to.

My Top Summer Destinations Are….

Palm Beach, Florida

I have never been to Palm Beach but I’ve heard great things.  I know there are several communities within the area and we’re trying to figure out where to stay.  I think we might stay a few nights in West Palm Beach and a two nights in Boca Raton.  Save for Mar-a-Lago, I have no clue what else there.  I am looking forward to wearing some Lilly Pulitzer dresses, which I haven’t worn since my DC days and lounging beach side.

Miami, Florida

Miami is one of my favorite cities to visit. My friends and I used to go there for MTV Spring Break during college.  I’ve been back multiple times since then for Art Basel, marketing conferences and vacations (check out my mini Miami Travel guide here).  I love staying in South Beach for it’s high octane vibe but I fell in love with Brickell, the city’s downtown district.  We stayed at The Viceroy, which is now W Hotel Miami and loved the calmness.  Hitting SoBe was just a $10 uber ride away.  For this coming visit in May, I want to check out the Wynwood, Art Deco District, Little Havana, Miami Design District and Coconut Grove.

Martha’s Vineyard

This place is near and dear to my heart.  So tough to get to but so worth it when you get there.  I’ve spent several summers on this Massachusetts island and I have to say its one of my favorite destination beach towns.  My friend Maci is having her bachelorette weekend there this June and I can’t wait to explore.  We usually go in August but I’m up for a nice relaxing girls’ weekend away from the customary August crowd. I can’t wait to go to Larsen’s fish market for fresh oysters and Nancy’s for their amazing frozen drinks and people watching of course!

Paris, France

I’ve been to Paris twice in my life, once in high school and years later for Paris Fashion Week.  It’s was always my intention to go back and truly explore the city but never got the chance to.  T and I are going to France for 20 days this summer to visit family and visit some towns I’ve only seen in movies.  We’re definitely heading to the Bordeaux region then slowly make our way back to Paris to visit his college friends.  We will be there around July 4th and Bastille Day so it’s going to be interesting to see how to French celebrate their independence.  I have already started following some Parisian bloggers to make sure we hit up the best brunch spots, bars and clubs.  Of course I am also looking forward to all the picturesque places to take outfit shots.  I told T that I will be bringing four suitcases.  He laughed it but I’m not kidding.

Napa Valley

We’ll be in Napa this September for my friend’s wedding and I am so excited to go to wine country.  We’re planning on staying a few extra days to take in the sites, drink as much wine and eat as much food as we can before heading back East.  I want to also spend a few days before the wedding in San Francisco since we’ll be flying into SFO before driving to Napa. Honestly, I feel like Napa Valley is definitely on the top summer destinations for a lot of people.

Washington, DC

Washington is such a special place to me! After all, it is where Glamazon Diaries started.  I go back several times a year to visit friends and family but never stay long enough to truly take in the city like I used to.  So  much has changed and I’ve been planning a fall trip to go to our Nation’s Capital around October during the Fall Gold Cup Steeplechase to explore the city.  The dynamics have changed since Trump but the DNA of the city is still there.  I already enlisted several friends who still live there to give me suggestions on where to shop, eat, drink and be merry!

There might be a few trips to the Hamptons peppered in here and there, plus traveling around New York State and New Jersey for different events.  The 2018 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is June 2 on Liberty Island and I have started rallying to troops to head to Jersey for this annual summer extravaganza.
