Contemporary fashion label Theory is collaborating with the Public Theater in New York to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the hit musical Hair. Hair, the hit musical from the ’60s inspired a lot of change. The story of young hippies growing up in Greenwich Village in an era of change. When young people banded together to stand up against the Vietnam War, Civil Rights activism and embraced the sexual revolution. To celebrate the hit musical by James Rado, Theory has created a photographic exhibit to highlight the cultural significance of Hair.

The Theory Icon Project and the Public Theater will stage a public performance of selected works from the Hair on July 9th in Ganesvoort Plaza. Hair the Musical will be opening to the public on July 22 and will run through August 31, 2008 at Central Park’s Delacorte Theatre.
