Each year, designers in the fashion industry raise millions of dollars and awareness of many causes that affect society and this year is no exception. Up to date, designers and fashion industry execs like Donna Karan, Stella McCartney and Anna Wintour have raised over 3 million dollars for various charities.

Rebecca & Drew, a brand known for revolutionalizing the work wardrobe with tailor-fit shirts and dresses, has teamed up with Housing Works, a non profit organization committed to helping homeless and low-income people Americans living with HIV/AIDS and their families have sufficient housing, food and care, to host a block party, on Sunday, September 7, 2008, to raise awareness and donations.

Enjoy interactive activities including a book signing with Andrea Lavinthal, author of Friend or Frenemy, as well as sketch artists, face painters, live music, shopping and much more. The 13th Street Block Party and Book Drive starts at 11am and will end at 4pm. The event is being held on 13th Street between Gansevoort and Hudson in the meatpacking district
