Montreal Travel Guide

Last month’s Montreal trip was such a blast but with so much content, it’s taking me a while to post everything.  It also doesn’t help that I jetted off to Miami a week after returning from that trip.  So now I have three weeks of content that I need to sift through, edit and post.  Bear with me y’all!  It’s hard out hear for a blogger.  Anyway, Montreal, as I said, was such a fun trip.  I only wish it was warmer out so that I could truly enjoy walking around the entire city.  I still didn’t get to explore the mountains, which I heard have incredible views of the city.

I went to the water front or Old Montreal a few times to see if La Grande Roue de Montreal was open for rides.  Sadly, it was closed due an ice storm the previous day.  I will be coming back this summer to truly enjoy the city and all it has to offer.  A few locals told me of an amusement park near the Vieux Port, which is the French name for Old Montreal.  Apparently there is a fireworks competition there every weekend throughout the summer where different countries show off their fireworks displays accompanied by music.  How fab does that sound? I would love to grab a picnic basket with a baguette, fruits, cheese and wine to enjoy such a spectacular sight every weekend.

I packed light for this trip but brought versatile pieces I could wear for both day or night.  This Eloquii wrap dress was a winner.  It’s such a fun dress with the statement stripes.  It’s the perfect dress for spring/summer because the fabric is light and it doesn’t cling.  It can also be dressed up or down with heels or sandals.  The balloon sleeves make the dress look very expensive.  This is another killer dress from one of my favorite brands.  It was a bit cold during my visit to the ferris wheel so I wore my favorite winter tights by DKNY, the super opaque tights, to cover up my legs and toes.

I swear by the DKNY super opaque tights because they are really, really thick and durable and JET black.  The tights also provide tummy support to smooth all bumps.  I have buy three or four pairs each season and have done so for the past six or seven years.  They’re my go to. On my list of must have staples is the Stuart Weitzman NudistSong, a barely there heel that goes with everything.  The NudistSong is a moderate heel and a lot more comfortable that the original Nudist.  I try to get a different color each time it goes on sale.  It’s a bit pricey but if you take into account the cost per wear on these heels, splurging on a pair is a no brainer. I’ve gotten so many requests about the Forever21 faux croc bag I’ve been wearing with almost every other outfit on my Instagram feed.  Unfortunately they sold out pretty fast back in February.  I actually saw InStyle mag’s Alexis Bennett wearing it during a fashion week event and immediately ordered it when she told me it was under $20. It comes with a chain, which I rarely use but it’s nice to know I can carry it as a shoulder bag if I need to.

My Montreal Travel Guide is coming out next Tuesday so be on the look out for it.  It includes all the places I visited, tried or just walked into to check out the atmosphere.  I plan on going back this summer to review a few more places I didn’t get a chance to visit.  In the mean time, check out my review of the Lowes Hotel Vogue Montreal, a gorgeous hotel located on Rue Saint Catherine that I fell in love with. If you’re heading to Montreal and looking for food options, check out Au Pied de Cochon and Hoogan et Beaufort, two restaurants that I can’t stop thinking about.
