A change in seasons means a change in the wardrobe. At the start of each season, I turn over my closet and swap my clothes out for weather appropriate clothes to see me through the next three months. I typically survey my clothing, shoes, and accessories to see what can be added to update my looks. As a blogger, one of my tasks is to highlight what’s on-trend and justify why you should buy said trend. But I am still a frugal Ghanaian and I can’t justify wasteful spending.

For starters, I invest in timeless pieces that can be worn year after year. I love shopping my closet first and then filling in the holes with accessories to update my looks. We waste so much money on clothing each season, which is not very practical or cost-effective. Sure I make money from affiliate links I share but my hope is to help you streamline your closets and shop wisely.

This outfit is a mix of items I’ve acquired over the past two years. I bought the faux leather skirt (last seen here) from the Katie Sturino x Eloquii collection as well as the polka dot top from Eloquii a few seasons ago and couldn’t part with either once the season was over. The polka dot heels are from Zara’s summer collection.

When I started updating my fall/winter wardrobe, I knew I wanted to add a white boucle coat, which I don’t own, to my coat closet. Thankfully, Eloquii released this gorgeous white car coat during my search and I immediately snagged it. I’m also obsessed with patterned tights for fall/winter. I might as well have fun with my legwear if I am going to cover up when the weather gets colder. I bought these polka dot tights from Emilio Cavallini, who has the most scrumptious patterned tights to zhuzh up your wardrobe.

The Staud Bissett Leather bucket bag has been on my list for two years now but I didn’t want to buy it outright, especially because I have no space in my apartment to add yet another bag. I rented this bag from Rent the Runway unlimited for a few weeks. The online rental company has a plethora of designer bags you can rent as part of your unlimited membership.
