My! my! has it been 50 years already since the Smithsonian acquired the Hope Diamond? The gorgeous blue diamond, which has been in the hands of kings and queens of the French court, even Marie Antoinette knew of the diamond’s beauty, is getting a face lift.

To celebrate 50 years since Harry Winston donation of the diamond to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the museum is giving the public an opportunity to pick the new look of the Hope diamond. The field has been narrowed to three designs, which symbolize renewal, journey and embracing hope. From August 17 – September 7th, you too can be a part of history by choosing the new design for the Hope diamond. Vote here
