POPSUGAR invited a few girls to the Crosby Hotel for a girls night to preview the new Leslie Mann, Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton flick The Other Woman. Hosted by the legendary stylist Patricia Field – who styled the entire film – the evening was one full of laughter. There was a post Q&A portion where we got to pick her brain about her process for styling, inspirations and some of her timeless works on Sex and The City, The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty.
The Other Woman is a laugh out loud comedy about a Connecticut housewife (Leslie Mann) who finds our her ‘perfect’ husband has been cheating on her with several women (Kate Upton and Cameron Diaz) after one of them shows up at her home dressed as a sexy plumber. Can you say awkward?
The three main characters have unique styles. Mann’s character is a Stepford wife who dresses in cute, preppy floral frocks and printed pants. She’s bubbly and spunky in her own way. Her style evolves throughout the movie as she learns to stand on her own. Diaz’s character is a high power Manhattan lawyer who has a knack for labels.
Her wardrobe is filled with Tom Ford, Jimmy Choo, Giuseppe Zanotti and other luxury brands. We see them play with Louboutins and Manolos in a closet scene where the two women bond over wearing thongs, waxing and tequila. Upton’s character is introduced to the audience in a beach scene where she wears a very skimpy white bikini in the Hamptons. Patricia said she went through twenty bikinis to find the perfect one for. Upton’s character is a 20-something sugar baby who thinks her sexy, rich entrepreneur boyfriend is soon-to-be divorced. The lies men tell.
This film is a must see! Nicki Minaj and her voluptuous body make several hilarious appearances in the film as an assistant. She shows off her curves in a lot of body-con looks. It’s the perfect film to see with the girls. The women bond over their loathing of this lying, cheating husband and form an unlikely friendship.
