I have been living in New York City for almost five years now but had yet to set foot at Citi Field, home of the Mets, until last Wednesday.  I went for a meeting and afterwards was invited by the sales and PR team to stay for that evening’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Despite the blistery wind conditions, two of my friends came out to join me.  The Mets were kind enough to give me the sickest seats that came with access to the Delta Sky360 Lounge.  For those looking for a bit of calm during the baseball game, this lounge is the perfect escape.  There is a chophouse in there for a sit down dinner – date night with the new beau? – as well as a nice bar to grab drinks with friends.  The balconies overlooking the stadium from the Delta Sky360 Lounge can be rented out for private parties.

After grabbing two drinks with the girls, we made our way to our seats, located on top of the dugout, right on the field.  Actor and comedian George Lopez was in the area.  We noshed on chicken tenders, hot dogs and fries then knocked back a few cold brews.  We even sang along to Take Me Out To The Ball Game and snapped a few Instagram shots hoping to make it onto the jumbo-tron using the Verizon sponsored hashtag #Nowstalgia (we didn’t).

It was a fun time out of Manhattan for a girl’s night.  One I am hoping to do more of as the weather warms up.  Tickets to a Mets game starts at just $10 but if you want to be closer to the action, expect to spend at least $50.  One of the must attend games is the Subway Series, which pits the Yankees against the Mets.  This four game series starts May 12 – 15.  Make sure you grab all your friends and make a night of it at one of these games.
