Earlier this year, JCPenney announced a new collaboration with Spanish clothing brand Mango.  The department store would carry the lower priced MNG by MANGO line in its stores and online. To fete the new collaboration and clothing launch, JCPenney threw a soiree at Capitale in Chinatown/Little Italy and invited some celebrities and fashion insiders.  Actress Anne Heche, with her beau, Grey’s Anatomy actor James Tupper, came out to support the brand (pictured above with JCPenney CEO Mike Ullman).

MNG by Mango will present a full contemporary lifestyle offering of career and casual women’s sportswear as well as handbags, accessories and footwear. The brand will fall into JCPenney “better” and “best” pricing tiers with items retailing from $9.90-$19.90 for a tee to $59.90-$159.90 for a jacket.

“Honestly, I thought all the looks were pretty terrific,” Anne Heche told PEOPLE, “chic and fun, but elegant. You want to have fun when you’re dressing.” Alex McCord from the Real Housewives of New York also gave the MNG by Mango for JCPenney collection her stamp of approval, wearing it in the Hamptons the weekend prior.  Singer Janelle Monae also performed a few songs from her latest album.
