After countless accusations of child molestation and the media circus surrounding him, Michael Jackson has learned that too much media exposure is never a good thing. The ‘King of Pop’ disappeared from the mainstream media after his acquittal and left the world wondering what he’d been up to. Never one to shy away from controversy and speculation, the Michael Jackson is back with a rebranding effort. He has partnered with designer Christian Audigier to create a new clothing line exclusively for Audigier’s brand. “It’s the merging of the King of Pop with the king of fashion. Something explosive is going to happen,” Audigier told People magazine. Jackson’s line will be sold exclusively at L.A. boutique Kitson. Don’t fret if you can’t make it to Los Angeles, you can go on line and shop the King of Pop’s line at shopkitson.com. The new line is to launch in the fall. “I think people will think it’s hip to wear his line,” said Fraser Ross, owner of Kitson. “Through all his ups and downs people still love him. He still has a huge fan base.” [Off the Rack/People]

Ed. note: I’ve never thought of Jackson as a fashion designer but perhaps his disappearance from the media was due to his enrollment in fashion school?
