Ombre Hair

For several seasons ombré was the rage, from Kanye’s ombré chambray shirt to Beyonce’s multi-colored hair, celebrities couldn’t get enough of it.  I remember my roommate jokingly telling me I was rocking the ombré when my highlights started growing out and my darker roots started showing.  Celebrities are still embracing the ombré trend, even more than before.

Beyonce sang the national anthem at President Obama’s inauguration swearing-in sporting ombré curls; actress Jennifer Lopez has been promoting her new movie Parker also sporting the multi-tonal look; so has singer Ciara, models Lily Aldrige and Camila Alves, actresses Rachel Bilson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Keke Palmer and Jessica Alba.  The list goes on.  So are we to run to our hair stylists and pay for hair that looks like it’s growing out its color? No ma’am! L’Oreal has got you covered.

Wild-Ombre-Kits

Launching in March is the L’Oreal Paris Féria Wild Ombré kits, $14, which promises to give you the ombré hair effect without spending a lot of money at the salon.  The box color will come in three different shades to match a range of base colors.  Applying is supposed to be a cinch.  The kit comes with a plastic brush to help you get the proper color gradation similar to the ones seen on the red carpet.  We might just be bold enough to try it and report the results.
