Rarely do I rave about lip products but when I do, it’s often because that particular product has made it onto the “can’t live without” compartment of my makeup bag.  I discovered Koh Gen Do skincare and beauty products earlier this year at the Barneys New York Spring Beauty Event and since then have become a huge fan.  The Chiffon Lip Balm, a decadent formula that envelops the lips with ultra hydrating emollient oils that keep lips moisturized for 24 hours.  Now as gimmicky as that might sound, I can attest to this claim.  I put on a small amount of the blush pink gloss yesterday afternoon before heading out to several New York Wine & Food Festival events and woke up this morning with it still on my lips.

According to the Koh Gen Do website, the Chiffon Lip Balm treats four major lip problems: Dullness, creasing lines, peeling and sensitivity with vitamins and oils like Japanese Cherry Extract, Apricot Extract, Yogurt Extract, Vitamin B2, Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Olive Squalane, Super Hyaluronic Acid, Royal Jelly Extract and Perilla Ocymoides Seed Oil.

At $39 per tube, the Koh Gen Do Chiffon Lip Balm isn’t cheap but it does what is promised on the packaging and very well I might add.  This product is going to be a must have in the fall and winter when dry, chapped lips are unavoidable effects of the ravaging cold.  A little bit of product goes a long way so you will get several months of use out of one tube.  It can also be worn over lipstick for subtle sheen or by itself to hydrate and moisturize.

Koh Gen Do products are available at Barneys New York beauty counters or online.
