Kate Middleton ditched her high street favorites for high end designers to kick off her Royal Canada Tour this morning.  Taking long strides in her new navy Manolo Blahnik Calogera Pumps, the Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning.  She wore a navy Roland Mouret Manon frock that high slightly above the knee, a length Kate is fond off.  The dress is shaped in her favorite silhouette, a sheath, which is flattering and very lady-like.  She kept the sexy crisscross back of the dress hidden with a Smythe One Button blazer, also in navy.  Completing her all navy ensemble was the navy Mulberry Polly Push Lock textured-leather shoulder bag, which is currently available on Net-a-Porter.

Kate’s style is classically conservative so this look was expected.  She isn’t one to take big fashion risks. Come to think of it, she’s never taken big fashion risks.  She loves nudes, creams, whites and navy colors and loves the monochromatic ensemble, which slims and elongates.  Her attempt at wearing bold colors failed miserably when she doned that orange Stella McCartney frock to Prince Phillip’s birthday dinner several weeks ago.  We love her look very much but wish she could take some risks with accessories, say a nice necklace for a bigger statement. She needs to dress for her age but we can’t fault her for looking absolutely classy.
