I am a huge fan of Karl Lagerfeld but his obsession with himself has got to stop. Don’t get me wrong. The guy is a genius but creating a bear in his own likeness is like building a shrine to himself. Granted I still worship him because of his brilliant collections season after season for Chanel.
Karl knows a thing or two about what sells and I am sure Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld fans with some Gs lying around will snag one of these limited edition Steiff bears that retail for $989 at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. This is uber excessive spending and not even this fashionista can justify spending that much on a bear.
I know there are only 2500 bears available worldwide but in these times, can we really justify buying a Sh***y bear that will be sitting on a mantle or somewhere safe because of fear of destroying it? Ok so the bear is cute. It has a Swarovski crystal belt and tie and comes autographed by Karl himself. It even has custom made boots and awesome shades just like Karl’s but really oh really.
