How to Wear a Slip Dress in the Winter

This week was all about bronze and burgundy for martini date night and also to show you how to wear a slip dress in the winter. I’ve wanted to rewear this ASOS satin slip dress I wore during my trip to Hawaii this summer for a while but it’s been too cold to be in these New York City streets bare chested. I decided to layer up to keep warm while still maintaining my feminine aesthetic.

I went for my handy dandy bodysuit from J.Crew in order to prevent any unsightly sweater lines around my midsection and added a burgundy coat from Canadian plus size brand Additionelle.

I kept the rest of my look simple by adding complimentary gold accessories and a nude (my skin tone nude) sandals from JustFab. The sandal comes in different shades of brown to match various skin tones.

This is the perfect look for a New Year’s Eve dinner party, New Year’s Brunch with the girls, date night or a holiday party. I love layering my slip dresses to get more wear out of them when the weather gets colder.

I added a gold leaf hair barrette to my updo to make my look a bit more elevated. My friend Belle gave me this leaf hair accessory a few weeks ago and I’ve been wearing it non-stop. I found a few similar clips on Etsy. Shop them below. The rest of my accessories (necklace, earrings and rings) are vintage finds from Paris. Check out my winter hair accessories guide here.
