The New York Auto Show kicked off last night with a fabulous Girls’ Night Out event hosted by She Buys Cars and Traveling Moms. Yours truly served as one of the hostesses of the event, which did not disappoint. It was fun to be around a good group of women, both single and with kids, who love cars. Growing up in the suburbs, I always dreamed of getting my own car at the ripe age of 16, when I got my license.
Alas, I got my mom’s old Nissan Sentra and then her Mazda Protege. I’ve been a huge car aficionado but living in Manhattan, the only cars I really ride in are New York Taxis, Ubers and the occasional Zip Car. This year’s Auto Show preview was incredible. Not only did I get the check out the latest collections from car brands, I got to touch some pretty cool toys, err cars, that I’ve only seen in movies and TV shows. What I love about the Auto Show is the chance to see some concept cars that might come on the market soon.
So back to Girls’ Night Out. SheBuysCars.com put together a great line-up of influencers to dish about dressing for your shape and looking your best. We were treated to a fashion show from Project Gravitas, a label that designs gorgeous career basics with built-in shape wear. We got a chance to play around with the latest Toyota cars and do a distracted driving simulator.
We all walked away with a nice gift bag of goodies and some lucky GNO attendees won Clarisonic kits and other fashion and beauty products. We were even treated to fabulous manicures, including nail art, using trend colors from Dior. The New York Auto Show goes on until next week, Sunday, April 12. They have a whole lot of activities and events for the entire family. Check out the schedule here: http://www.autoshowny.com/show/schedule/. You won’t want to miss this.
