Forbes Magazine named the top ten ‘It’ bags for this (and next) seasons and I am not surprised that some of my favorites are on the list. My dad forwarded me the article with a note that said,
“Effie, only you and your mother would find this interesting. Instead of saving your money and investing in something worthwhile like stocks, you spend it on rubbish like bags that could feed a family of four in Sudan for months.”

– Dad

Uhmm Daddy, a lot of stocks aren’t doing so well right now. I invested pretty aggressively in real estate and stocks for my 401K and my plan took a nose dive. I don’t spend too much on handbags (I spend them on shoes), because I know that I am not financially secure enough to spend $20,000 on a Burberry Alligator Warrior bag. I will however splurge on a nice bag to add to my collection. I have set an internal budget that I will not reveal here because it’s tacky to do so.

Any how, I don’t want to digress too much. Women have the buying power to turn the economy around. If every woman bought an Hermes Kelly this year we will be set. Not quite but whatevs. If you don’t mind taking out a second mortgage for a limited edition Hermes, then please go for it. Don’t fret if you can’t afford these bags, just sign up for the Bag, Borrow or Steal, a bag and accessory rental company that carries the hottest bags only celebs and affluent women can afford. It’s like the Netflix of fashion. Borrow a bag for a week or month and return it in the prepaid package.
