I swore to my friend Kate last year that I would never partake in Fashion’s Night Out events opened to the public again. Not because I consider myself above everyone else, I just didn’t want to deal with the long lines, overcrowded stores and guests/customers elbowing me in the ribs to get a glimpse of their favorite celebrity.  So when Salvatore Ferragamo invited me to come celebrate the fourth FNO at an exclusive soiree at the flagship store on Fifth Avenue, I jumped at the chance. The “From Russia with Love” themed party was to celebrate the Italian fashion house’s Russian themed fall collection.

Hosted by fashion mavens Miroslova Duma, Elena Perminova and Anya Ziourova, the star-studded party was the place to be.  Providing entertainment was the Russian New Wave pop band Tesla Boys, who performed a high octane set with Hilary Rhoda, Maryna Linchuk, Anouck Lapere, Anna Dello Russo, polo hottie Nic Roldan, Rachel Chandler Guinness, Phoebe & Annette Stephens, Maggie Betts, and Lily Kwong in the audience.

One of my favorite blogs, The Coveteur, created the window displays of the newly renovated Fifth Avenue Flaship store.  Check out the well curated images here: http://thecoveteur.com/Ferragamo_FNO.  The Ferragamo fall collection, created by Massimiliano Giornetti, celebrates the opulence and splendor of Russia’s gilded age with ornate gold embroidery on skirts, shoes and accessories.  The accessories are to die for, with intricate lacing on black and gold sandals and box clutches.
