This year, I wanted to do something a bit more grown-up by investing in quality pieces that will last. I discovered Parisian jewelry brand Mauboussin during Fashion’s Night Out last September when my dear friend Rita, who owns La Caravelle champagne, invited me to a cocktail reception at the brand’s flagship store on 714 Madison Avenue.

Mauboussin recognizes that younger fashion taste makers want quality jewelry but are not willing to go into debt to look fabulous. They’ve introduced a lower priced line of jewelry and watches that are equally as stunning as their higher priced offerings.
The new Mauboussin Amour Le Jour Se Leve Ladies Watches have been on my must have list since FNO. At under $600, Amour, le jour se leve watch is the perfect accessory to adorn my wrist as a fashion piece while at the same time keeping me on schedule. I’ve gotten so used to whipping out my cell phone to figure out the time but I know it’s a lot more lady like to have an elegant watch to keep me on track.
The Mauboussin watches come in four different styles: a stainless steel round version with white mother-of-pearl bezel with diamonds, rhodium dial with diamonds, quartz movement, stainless steel strap and deployment buckle; a square watch with white mother-of-pearl bezel with diamonds, rhodium dial with diamonds, quartz movement, black satin strap and deployment buckle; a stainless steel round watch with white mother-of-pearl bezel with diamonds, rhodium dial with diamonds, quartz movement, black satin strap and deployment buckle; and a stainless steel square version with white mother-of-pearl bezel with diamonds, rhodium dial with diamonds, quartz movement, stainless steel strap and deployment buckle.
I adore all the watches and can’t really makeup my mind as to which one to pick but I am leaning more towards the square face watch with the stainless steel strap. I think it’s more versatile and classic, although I still love the satin strap.
