fall wardrobe

Fashion month is almost over and thank goodness for that. What I’m most excited for right now is bundling up in blazers and coats for fall, even though it still feels like summer outside. I did a huge purge of my summer closet over the weekend and brought out all my fall and winter clothes. I’m not into buying a whole new wardrobe each season because we all know that’s very impractical. Even Kate Middleton recycles her clothes each season, so why should I do a complete overhaul of my closet?

What I do each season, however, is to fill in any holes that I have in my wardrobe. This means getting rid of old clothes that cannot be mended, and finding new alternatives or adding pieces I truly love to my collection. In terms of shoes, the only thing I probably will buy will be over the knee flat boots, which I saw for sale at Eloquii.

Plaid in the fall is nothing revolutionary but it still fabulous, so I am excited about my recent acquisition of this plaid skirt from J.Crew. I love the fitted hip area with the ruffled hem. I plan on pairing it with a soft long sleeve turtleneck and cozy blazer. Of course I’ve stocked up on my favorite DKNY Opaque tights, which I plan on wearing with almost every skirt or dress this season and into winter.

I own several boots and booties, with my favorite being a pair of cognac boots from Louis Vuitton but for those looking for a cheaper alternative, I love this pair from BCBGeneration to wear with your dress and skirts or jeans. And of course, don’t forget a proper topper like this felt fedora in a rich burgundy to keep hair from flying away.  I also added a few new beauty products to my fall routine and the Born to Run Palette from Urban Decay is the must-have eyeshadow palette for fall.
