ESPYSThe ESPYS Awards is the one night where the world pauses to pay tribute to incredible athletes. Its an award show that fans determine the winners in all ESPY categories (except the Arthur Ashe Courage Award and other special awards) by voting online at ESPN. Last night’s show was by far one the best and funniest I have had the chance to see. Actor Jon Hamm of AMC’s award-winning series Mad Men hosted the show.

But before we get to the details of the show and the winner’s list, the ESPYS Red Carpet, like any award show, is one of the event’s best moments. Many athletes attended the awards show from Joe Flacco, Chandler Parsons, Reggie Bush to Dwyane Wade. Unfortunately very few of these professional players made a significant impact on the ESPYS Red Carpet. Some appeared to be ready for a rough night in Vegas, or a great brunch at the derby rather than an awards show. An award’s show is the time that you as the attendee should do your very best to pull yourself from your typical look and opt for something stellar.

LeBron James was the Best Dressed for men last night. Granted LeBron does have a great sense of fashion, but he increased it last night. Colin Kaepernick, recent from ESPN’s Body Issue, was another athelete who looked very dapper at the ESPYS. I also place Nick Young on top wearing a emerald short suit, perfect for the LA sun.

Some of the major winners include:

Best Team – Miami Heat

Best Male Athlete – LeBron James, Miami Heat

Best Female Athlete – Serena Williams

Best NFL Player – Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

The ESPYS honor ESPN’s commitment to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, a partnership launched with the late Jim Valvano at the inaugural ESPYS in 1993.
