Most recently, she visited St. Andrews School wearing a green plaid coat dress from McQ by McQueen, which looked absolutely smashing on her. Emerald green is a universally flattering color that is aesthetically pleasing as well. It is regal yet statement making and sets the tone for all seasons.
According to Pantone, it chose Emerald Green as the color of choice for 2013 after surveying trends from red carpets (Catherine being a staple), runways of Paris, London, Milan and New York, as well as textiles developed for interiors.
Pantone Colour Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman said, Emerald Green is “the most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color.” Well go figure.
Designers like Zac Posen, Nanette Lepore, Mulberry, Diane von Furstenberg, Tracy Reese, Gucci, Burberry and Sportmax all adopted emerald green for their runway shows.
