Summer Stripes in Industry City

Have finally ditched spring and catapulted into summer? This weekend’s weather felt that way. I celebrated Memorial Day by being thankful to my friends and family serving in the military. Those who sacrifice their lives for the freedoms we so enjoy. I spent the weekend relaxing and just going with the flow. I feel like I often pack too much onto my place, leading to this overwhelming feeling that there’s not enough hours in the day.

I wanted to hang with friends all weekend but several projects took priority over fun. I spent the last week turning over the apartment from spring to winter and organizing my closets, yes plural because the second bedroom is a hybrid closet/office. Yesterday, however, I let myself enjoy the gorgeous Brooklyn weather and went to Industry City with my favorite picnic basket filled with snack and rose to cap off the holiday weekend.

We always drive by Industry City on our way back from Washington, DC and I always make mental note to go check out the art and eateries. Well, yesterday was the perfect day to do so. I put on my most colorful frock, this sold out dolman sleeve dress by Eloquii, and hopped on the R train to the newest Brooklyn hotspot.

You must go if you love food and art. They also have a summer concert series as well as free weekly fitness classes. I will do a full review of Industry City soon. We didn’t get a chance to check out many of the restaurants and boutiques because many of them were closed. Frying Pan was open so we ordered some lobster rolls for our picnic in the courtyard.
