Glamour Magazine Retail Rally | Coming to a Mall Near You

As a Glamour magazine Glambassador for Washington, DC, it is my solemn duty to bring all fashionistas the hottest deals and the latest fashion news.  I’m happy to report that Glamour Magazine is back this Fall with the Retail Rally, a day of shopping at malls nationwide with discounts and goodies galore.  I’ve participated as a Glambassador in the retail Rally two seasons now and it’s something I find very rewarding.  

The Glambassadors walk around the mall giving away a coupon booklet filled with fabulous discounts and retailers like Express, Talbots, Armani Exchange, Bare Escentuals, Origins and many more. We also give away samples of product and have Avon’s Mark representatives give make-up tips, touch-ups and freebies.  The Glamour magazine Retail Rally is like a day at the mall with a whole bunch of your girlfriends.  Shoppers get a Glamour magazine gift bag if they return to the Retail Rally lounge with their receipt. Last season, the gift bag was filled with perfume, a Marc by Marc Jacobs t-shirt that I wanted so badly but left empty handed, Avon Mark products, Glamour magazines and other samples that women were fighting over towards the end of the day. 

What I find perplexing is that many shoppers pass up the opportunity to get a coupon, which we are giving out for free, but end up running back to us to get one after they see how much fun people are having with their coupon books. We also do a drawing for a $5000 American Express shopping card, which seems to always go to someone who isn’t really into fashion. Last season, a man won the $5000 card but luckily came with his wife and daughter, who swore to show him how to spend it.
