I’ve started planning my wardrobe for New York Fashion Week, which is quickly approaching this February.  As a broke blogger with abundant resources for getting super chic clothes without breaking the bank, I’ve been looking for high and low pieces to mix and match while attending shows.  I’ve been scouting around for pieces I can wear again towards the end of the week with other items in my suitcase.  The blazer is probably the first thing I am going to pack because I can wear it with almost anything else in my closet.

The outfit I put together is for a day at Calvin Klein or DKNY shows, the American sportswear look.  I found this Long Sleeved Black Knee Length Dress by Jonathan Sanders that looks super dressy from far away but is actually printed. The dress will look a lot more dressy with the Vanessa Bruno Angular shoulder jacket with plays up on the masculine jacket in a feminine color. I am banking on New York City being cold in the first few weeks of February so I am packing a slew of opaque tights from Banana Republic and Express. The Banana Republic Solid Opaque Tights is durable and super cheap at $11. Of course a girl prance around during fashion week in flats so a comfortable strappy platform like the Donna Karen Satin Platform Sandals is the perfect shoe to go from the tents to the after parties. I can’t forget my accessories.  Adding a bit of bling with earrings like the Adriana Orsini Tear Drop Earrings and being mysterious like Anna Wintour with Oversized Gucci Sunglasses. I’m not sure how much I can cram into the Emilio Pucci Bean Shaped Hard Clutch  but I’m willing nothing else will fit my debit card, mini camera, blackberry and mini lip gloss get shoved in. One outfit down, about 10 more to go.
