I went to Saks Fifth Avenue in Friendship Heights last night for the Elie Tahari Holiday and Spring 2010 Runway show to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Hosted by DC Modern Luxury and Saks, we got a chance to check out all the fabulous frocks from Elie Tahari. I remember getting an Elie Tahari suit when I was going to college and absolutely falling in love with it. That suit took me from Student Government meetings to elections and more. The event was a great success with proceeds from ticket sales and sale of the Tahari collection going to benefit pertinent research for children’s cancers.

The main attraction was supposed to be Elie and Rory Tahari but due to inclement weather, they weren’t able to make it. Elie was able to call in to say thanks to all the guests and give his sincerest apologies for not making it. He said they sat on the tarmac for three hours. Bummer! Guests still had a great time noshing on yummy treats from and champagne. Check out the collection below. I wish I had taken a picture of the strapless orange dress work by Jacqueline. You can see it in the video below. The dresses were hot with exposed zippers in the back. I loved all the woven belts and necklaces with patent leather flowers. The one trend I am dying to try is the cropped balloon pant with a comfy tissue tee and a jacket.
