This was the quote inscribed in the leather bound journal First Lady Michelle Obama gave to former First Lady Laura Bush on the day of the inauguration. The journal was also accompanied with an engraved pen with the date January 20, 2009. Mrs. Bush has said many times that she plans to start writing her memoirs once she is out of the White House and has more time. Such a heart warming and sophisticated gesture for Mrs. O to gift Mrs. Bush with this thoughtful gift.
I also read somewhere that this is the first known time that an incoming First Lady has brought a gift to an outgoing First Lady.
