On October 23rd, DC boutique Muléh (1831 14th Street NW) is bringing English style stateside with the Anglomania collection by Vivienne Westwood. During this unique opportunity shoppers will have the rare chance to see the entire Spring 2009 collection and pre-order their selection during the show, which will last from 5pm until 8pm. As a special treat Ms. Westwood is loaning Muléh the wedding dress Carrie wore in Sex & The City, allowing shoppers to get up close with film history.
Owner Christopher Reiter says, “Fashionistas in DC rarely have an opportunity to see all of a designer’s season in one place. Boutiques usually only carry a small slice of the full collection. In the DC area, Anglomania is available only at Muléh. This is indeed a special event.” Guests can shop while enjoying champagne and a live DJ. Informal models will be on hand to show the garments in action.
Vivienne Westwood is a designer who celebrates the female form, toeing the line between feminine with her corseted waists, and funk with her bold patterns. A trunk show of this nature is a rarity in DC, primarily because it involves transporting the entire collection, which is estimated at over 50 pieces. By seeing the full scope of the designers work, shoppers can find their perfect pieces and order their size. On hand to assist clients will be Vivienne Westwood’s VP and New York Representative, who will have the perfect styling tips to offer.
