“Every woman loves peonies,” declared Vivienne Tam, who showed her spring 2009 collection today during New York Fashion Week. Models walked the catwalk in floral prints paying homage to one of spring’s favorite blooms, the peonies. What Vivienne Tam did well was in well executed print dresses in silk prints and cream cutouts tops so flirty and fun, one might have thought spring had come early. Her standouts included a cream trench coat for the Parisienne woman or a city slicker, a crossover halter print dress with a belted waist. Tam also paid homage to Yves Saint Laurent with her own interpretation of Le Smoking, the tuxedo for woman that Laurent made so famous during his early career.
