Ever since trying a 7-day juice cleanse from Manhattan based juice company Liquiteria, I’ve committed to incorporating healthy green juices into my daily habit. Whether for an early morning metabolism boost, a mid afternoon energy booster or a calorie savor, a mean green juice or just a healthy juice is a good way of getting some of your daily servings.

The fun part about green juices is that the combinations are endless. There are times where I crave a spicy kick to my juice. Ginger does just the trick and it’s loaded with nutrients and bioactive compounds that have powerful benefits for your body and brain. Let’s not forget it’s anti-inflammatory properties.

Mean Green Juice Recipe

The foundation of my go-to green juice are kale and spinach, two calcium and vitamin K rich foods that help with chlorophyll production, which enriches your blood with oxygen.  The addition of these two veggies into any improves the production of red blood cells and benefits the process of cells.

Don’t fret if you don’t have a juicer because I don’t and I manage just fine.  Instead of spending over $300 on a juicer, I opt for either our Ninja Blender or the Nutribullet, both of which pulverize all the veggies and fruits effortlessly and a cheese cloth I purchased from Amazon.

Glamazon Mean Green Juice Ingredients {Serves 2}:

  • 2 cups chopped kale
  • 1 green apple (slices into cubes)
  • 1/2 cucumber (cubed)
  • 1 whole lemon (juiced)
  • 2 cups chopped spinach
  • Small bit of ginger
  • 1.5 cups of cold filtered water

Start by blending the kale with water, then add the rest of the ingredients into the blender and blend away until smooth. Place the cheese clothe over a bowl and pour the veggie mixture over it. Gently strain, make sure not to rip cloth. Pour the juice into a glass and enjoy!
