Despite the winter chill currently enveloping New York City, the fashion set is impatiently waiting for spring to arrive.  Last week I attended the Gap Spring 2015 collection editor’s preview at the new Gansevoort Market in the Meatpacking District.  The brand stuck to its DNA and what makes is so iconic, which are strong denim pieces and effortless separates.

What made the collection fun and more updated was the injection of beautiful canary yellow, bold floral prints reminiscent of Drew Barrymore’s flower child phase and lavish leather accessories street style bloggers will be snatching up like hot cakes come spring.  There is something for everyone in the Gap Garden party collection.  A few standouts included the snakeskin print leather loafers ($64.95), a perforated hem tank top in a mouth watering yellow, and a khaki shirt dress that will be a versatile piece that can transition from work to play with the change of accessories. Some of the new collection is currently available at Gap.

On a side note, make sure you check out Gansevoort Market (52 Gansevoort Street), the new food hall located in the heart of the Meatpacking District. The industrial space is no frills with an impressive offering of food vendors for the brunch and dinner crowds.  It’s also the perfect place to grab a quick bite during the work week. Among the food offerings are: David Bouhadana’s Dojo Express, an offshoot of his hit Sushi Dojo, Donostia tapas counter, FeelFood for Latin lunch, Ed’s Lobster Bar for yummy lobster rolls, Tacobmi for mouth watering tacos and Luzzo’s for pizzas.  Other vendors in the space will offer up macarons, coffee, crepes, pastries, groceries, a Greek yogurt bar, and a pork counter.
