Iris van Herpen continues to create avant guard footwear collections for United Nude. We’re so used to seeing crazy architectural wonders the Parisian designer creates but are still in awe when a new collection comes out.
The Iris van Herpen x United Nude Biopiracy for fall 2014 is insane. I guess these shoes were expected because the Iris did put her models in shrink wrap for her fall 2014 collection. The the Biopiracy boot and Biopiracy peeptoe ankle bootie were seen in her show and somewhere in the world, Lady Gaga is salivating.
Both the boot and bootie feature a staggering 7 inch tall platform cantilevered heel. The boot was shown in black and ivory, while the bootie was shown in ivory and off white. The shoes were created through a 3D printing collaboration with Julia Koerner. The pairs are futuristic sculptures and shows that United Nude and Iris van Herpen look to experimentation with design and technology.
