Givenchy

The intimate setting at Givenchy’s runway show in Paris gave way to Riccardo Tisci’s new direction, away from designer sweatshirts, towards a womanly and very French collection. A trio of dresses opening the show set the new mood. Each piece got progressively more bold and colorful, beginning with sheer pieces moving towards some animal prints.

The tailoring received notable attention with a range of high-waist pants and boxy, cropped jackets. The overwhelming impression was one of sophisticated luxury revealed through pieces such as the leopard-spot coat lined in beaver, or the pink-fox with metal grommets. Fur as well as bead details were prominent on some of the evening pieces.
