Before I started blogging seven years ago, I was a complete lipstick virgin. I opted for neutral and subtle pink shades that didn’t stand out because I wasn’t as confident about my full lips. A few of my fellow bloggers urged me to go bold on the lips a bit more a few years ago and I haven’t looked back since. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good neutral but for a night out on the town, nothing beats a statement red lip.
The very first advice given to me when I started wearing brighter, bolder lipsticks was to opt for matte formulas because they weren’t as glossy. I bought MAC Ruby Woo and Russian Red matte lipsticks to get me started. These two shades are on permanent rotation in my beauty routine but for the past two years, I’ve been addicted to lip stains. One in particular stands out. Lime Crime!

I discovered the Los Angeles based cosmetic company Lime Crime two years ago because are a vegan, cruelty-free, animal-friendly company. I was attracted to their Velvetine, a liquid to matte lip stain that dried to a velvety soft color.

The Lime Crime Velvetine comes in three shades, Suedeberry (a coral red), Red Velvet (a deep red rose petal color) and the newly added Pink Velvet. I did a video review last night on how to apply. Check it out below and make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel.
