Spanx Inc. is launching a new brand called Star Power by Spanx inspired by celebrities on the red carpet. The collection includes shapewear, foundations, hosiery and more slimming apparel. Suggested retail will be $22 to $138.
The Lady Luxe Shapewear group targets the tummy with dual shaping panels made of metallic foil print mesh. The design detail, which features restricted stretch for targeted compression, is not visible underneath clothing, according to the company.
The Tout & About group includes a Seamless Shaping Skirt that conceals lumps and bumps, while the Dress to Slimpress style has slimming leggings with a power mesh interior that firms all around. Special treatments include faux suede and crackled leatherlike finishes.
There’s also a group of bras called Show Girls that have back-smoothing features including a new, innovative side closure.
Distribution this month is aimed at macys.com, select Macy’s stores and spanx.com. Macy’s will be staging Star Power by Spanx events later this month where customers will get Insta-Glammed by the Star Power Style Team, participate in Shaping Spree giveaways and snag Star Power Swag Bags. Details have not been finalized.
