Dsquared2Dsquared2 Men’s RTW Spring 2014 collection was a tour de force inspired by the rainforest. The show was a luxurious explosion of beautiful menswear that flooded the runway. Sure there were the usual suspects seen in menswears, the Bermuda shorts, waterproof jackets, and evening wear but it was done with panache.

Dan Caten described the collection as “James Dean crashes his plane on a tropical island and adapts.” Well I’d say he adapted quite nicely even in his underwear and swimwear for the overly heated climate.  Juxtasposed to the tropical aesthetic were cropped pants, t-shirts, varsity jackets and leather jackets for the explorer ready for an adventure in the jungle.  The addition of sleek raincoats and relaxed silhouettes with leather rain boots where the perfect compliment.

There were bursts of color in the collection in the form of a pink leather biker jacket, punchy weekenders, and a light teal leather jacket. Large leaf motifs were strategically splashed on a shirt/short combo, a blazer, a biker jacket, shirts, and wide hip pants.

Transitioning into night, Dsquared2 elevated evening wear and added a bit of fun. Clean lines, tailored fitting and perfect cuts complimented the models.

The collection wrapped with two of the most adorable child models dressed in black suit and chic eyewear.  We guess the stranded James Dean found Mrs. Dean and started their own civilization.  Expect this collection to be in much demand in year 2014.  The Ryan Goslings and Brad Goreskis of the world will be running to their nearest men’s boutiques.
