This past Tuesday in the Upper East Side at The Whitney Museum of American Art was the venue for the final round of the VANS Custom Culture Contest. Attendees included high school students from the participating high schools and celebrity guests Emma Roberts, Whitney Port, Timo Weiland, Christian Jacobs and Steve Caballero. Guests indulged in exotic hors d’oeuvres while viewing each schools’ designs. This year’s winner was Lakeridge High School from Lake Oswego, OR.

The VANS Custom Culture competition inspires high school students across the U.S. to tap into their creativity. Due to the decrease of educational funding, VANS created the Custom Culture competition in order to raise funds and awareness for the importance of art in high schools all over the country. The Custom Culture competition allows high school students to ‘design their own VANS’ for a grand prize of $50,000 toward their high school art program!
