For fall 2013, designer Christina Mannino took us ringside at an ultra sexy and romantic circus, in which the DEIVIE girl is both the Ringmaster and the Comtesse. Inspired by the allure and excitement of the circus, pieces in the DEIVIE collection for fall was all about embellishments. Encompassing bold hues like violet, crimson red, black and blue, it came down to the details in each piece.
Maxi skirts got the dominatrix treatment with gold grommets and red ribbon slithering up the the thigh. The mini dress was updated in a velvety soft fabric with ornate roses and a dramatic harlequin collar. As if to channel the mystique of songstress Lana Del Ray, the looks were styled with top hats embellished with deep violet roses.
As if that were not enough, Christina Mannino showed her affinity for fine tailoring with sharp black coats with gold piping and a matching sheath that could be worn together for the office or separate for a night out on the town. With thigh high stockings and black booties completing each look, the DEIVIE girl is cracking the whip and showing us that the downtown girl can wrangle the style circus whether uptown, downtown or midtown. The starlets we see wearing these pieces? Rachel Bilson, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Williams, Solange Knowles, Elle Fanning and Emma Roberts.
