After a successful introduction of its award winning floral scent Valentina, Valentino is back with a more seductive scent called Valentina Assoluto. Perfumer Olivier Cresp, along with Alberto Morillas developed the new eau de parfum, going back to the drawing board and creating a unique fragrance with entirely different properties of the first. Valentina Assolutohas chypre – noted for its power and elegance – as its center.

Italian ingredients were then used to round outValentina Assoluto.  It’s formulated with top notes of Italian bergamot, white Alba truffle from Piedmont and Smeggia peach from Sicily; a heart of Mediterranean jasmine, tuberose and delicate vanilla from Madagascar, and a drydown of silky cedar, oakmoss, patchouli and chypre.

The perfume is housed in a rounded flacon with a pale pink rose on the front, while the cap is in copper and topped with a black pearl.  It will come in a 1.7-oz. version for 85 euros, or $107 at current exchange, and a 2.7-oz. version, 108 euros, or $137.

Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen, who stared in the original Valentina campaign, returns as the face of Valentina Assoluto. The new Valentino perfume will be sold exclusively at Harrod’s this month, with a roll out in Europe, Iberia, Russia and the Middle East in August.  Asia will get the the scent in specialty stores in October, followed by an introduction to the U.S. in April 2013.
