The Capital Club of Washington hosted the 19th annual Sinatra Soiree last month in Washington, DC.  Noted as one of the must attend events of the Summer, guests did not disappoint when it came to dressing up for the fabulous fete.  Of course there was the expected trend of flirty mini dresses in punchy colors like fuchsia, corals and  yellows; and pink slacks with navy blazers, patterned trousers and seersucker suits for the gents. Yours truly went long, all the way to the floor with a dress from the Spring/Summer 2011 Milly by Michelle Smith collection.

The Milly Anais Hostess Dress has been a favorite since seeing on the runway last September and was disheartened when it sold out immediately upon release.  Designer Michelle Smith was kind enough to send over the showroom sample after I kindly asked her if she had any of them available in the showroom.  I wanted to go the elegant route with a long dress that was dressy for an evening affair but still a bit casual.  I tucked in the camisole of the dress into the skirt and wore a white A.P.C tank with a gold Gucci belt and gold Jimmy Choo heels.  I kept accessories to a minimum with taupe Martine Wester earrings and a gold leaf cuff and a 72′ pearl necklace from Carolee.

Capital Club president Win Huffman (above and left) looked dashing in a classically conservative look; opting for white linen slacks, a crisp white button down shirt with baby blue detailing on the inside cuff and collar, a navy blazer with gold buttons and Del Toro loafers, instead of boring brown or black leather loafers for a Summer ready look.  Fritz Brogan, VP of the organization wore the same look up top but chose a pastel multi-colored seersucker slacks to complete his look.
