There’s nothing more I’d love than to be able to jet set somewhere tropical every weekend. And while the Shore is still gorgeous, most weekends I’m at home blogging, baking, or  noshing — in no particular order. Sunday nights are my favorites because I indulge in a few at-home pampering rituals to prepare myself for the coming week. Whether it’s an at-home alpha-beta peel or sampling the latest scrub, I put on my pink bathrobe (The Luxe Robe via Plush Necessities), pour a glass of wine (or two), and grab my latest read or raid the DVR vault. Of course, since every day isn’t Sunday, I try to find ways to relax throughout the week that don’t include too much planning ahead. I’ll be sharing these “In-House Spa” tips with you!

Using a decadently scented body wash it is my favorite part of shower time. I usually have at least two different kinds in the bathroom and a few backups in the bathroom cabinet.  Choosing a moisturizer is a personal experience.  There’s a lot that goes into a good body wash; like thickness of the formula, scent and added benefits like anti-aging agents. Does it moisturize or exfoliate? I’m a huge fan of the Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Wash from Pacifica and the Blemish Buffing Beads Body Wash from Peter Thomas Roth. Yves Rocher Jardin du Monde Laotian Lotus Shower Gel and Caress Evenly Gorgeous® Exfoliating Body Wash are also favorites high on our editors’ lists.

Courtesy of Caress, I was lucky enough to try their Fine Fragrance Elixirs Body Washes.  Developed at Givaudan & International Flavors & Fragrances Inc., they are available in two intoxicating scents: Sheer Twilight and Scarlet Blossom. I’ve used both and while I love the unlikely duo of Black Orchid and Juniper Oil in Sheer Twilight, it’s the Red Lychee and Patchouli Oil in Scarlet Blossom that win my vote. The more intense, sophisticated scent paired with a silky, luxe consistency makes for a spa-worthy experience. Hours later I still caught whiffs of Sheer Twilight on my skin and was pleased with its staying power. A welcomed step away from the dozens of warm vanilla and cucumber scented body washes and under $4 a bottle? We think Caress has a winner on their hands.
