Consider yourself lucky if you score an outdoor patio seat, which is perfect for people watching in the neighborhood. For starters, order two dozen oysters and clams on the half shell from the ice bar, your server will give you the low down on where each oyster originates from. For those not particularly fond of oysters, the jumbo shrimp cocktail is light and delicate and a perfect appetizer to kick start your dinner menu. The boys will love the popcorn shrimp and calamari. Don’t forget a bottle of Ken Forester Sauvignon Blanc for the table. At just $35 for the bottle, you can pair your delectable oysters with a cold white wine.
Hank’s Oyster Bar offers both small and large plates of seafood options including classic beach fares like lobster bisque, Oyster Po’ Boy with Cole Slaw and Seared Sea Scallops. Whether you want to share a few plates or order a large plate just for yourself, you can’t go wrong with the well curated seafood menu. If happy hour turns into dinner, the Flat Iron Steak w/ Chimichurri, served only on Fridays in the Meat & Two section of the menu is a must try.
We were impressed with Hank’s Oyster Bar’s comprehensive beverage list, which includes a fabulous selection of white, rose and sparkling wines, both domestic and imported draft and bottled beers. Dinner at this can’t miss seafood restaurant is moderately priced with seafood on the ice bar and small plates ranging between $1.95 for a large shrimp to $13 for a grilled crab cake.
