This year, Washington D.C joined New York, Los Angeles, London, and other cities across the world in celebrating the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week that can be enjoyed by those of us who don’t have show tickets–Fashion’s Night Out.

Friday night found Georgetown decked out in lights, music, and swag as the first annual Fashion’s Night Out took over M Street and Wisconsin Avenue. The host committee, which consisted of ladies from Labels for Love, The Washington Post, DailyCandy, Project Beltway, CityShopGirl, Washington Life Magazine, and more, filled Georgetown’s usually crowded cobblestones to capacity.

We enjoyed sipping and swag-ing at Betsey Johnson, Reiss, and WINK, but from the looks of it, INTERMIX and Vineyard Vines attracted the largest crowds. We couldn’t risk stepping foot into our weakest of spots (INTERMIX–not Vineyard Vines) after several vodka cocktails, so we chose to avoid the havoc and browse through less hectic boutiques.

We’re both proud and disappointed to say that we left Georgetown sans new purchases–but with several new friends and a plethora of new pieces to covet (how have we never shopped at Reiss before? The British brand displayed an enviable collection of structured basics that exuded UK chic that we can’t wait to spend our next paycheck on).

Although the event didn’t attract nearly the level of celebs that New York’s FNO did, we also met some local bloggers and fellow Glamazons, and are eagerly awaiting next year’s installment!
